Fundamentals of Cavitation and Bubble Oscillations
Cavitation and bubble oscillations lie at the heart of many physical, biomedical, and industrial processes. Our research explores the fundamental physics behind how bubbles form, interact, and evolve under different conditions. From the dynamics of interacting cavitation bubbles and shock-driven oscillations, to the behavior of bubbles in various liquids and the complex shape oscillations of microbubbles. Through high-speed experiments and modelling, we build a deeper understanding of these phenomena and their far-reaching applications:
- Cavitation bubble pair dynamics
- Bubbles driven by shock waves
- Nucleation and dynamics of cavitation in different liquids
- Ultrasound-driven shape oscillations and jets of bubbles
- Impulsive droplet dynamics, including wave focusing and state changes
